Writing code is not as satisfying as it used to be because of LLMs.
Previously, we wrote every function by hand. The person writing it knew what was happening and how the workflow was built. We were better at connecting the dots.
Today, every single function, or an entire feature, is built using LLMs. Not everyone knows the details of what is happening. Source code is becoming a black box. Code is harder to read, and everyone is losing debugging skills. Logs are seen less. Without LLMs, writing software has become hard.
No one is really sure where the world of software is headed.
But I believe there is still value in well-crafted software.
